I like the postcard. Just a note hope looks like rope. I like that because where my head goes is a nice little cynical layer where hope is a rope-hanging-suicide=hope YAY! But I doubt that was the string of associations you were going for, however. Solid piece pretty much what I would expect out of a solid advertisement post card. 7/10
I really like the second one solid colors good movement very austere and classy. Fits all the necessary information in there. On more technical note, is it too simple? Are you getting the author and the text across? Why the cursive lettering? re -orient the movement of the text? Etc. It's nice and you can always come back to it but my suggestion is to get really hyper-analytical about it. (BTW if you've already done all this stuff then ignore me.) 8/10

do not like the dense color version and do like the white space version.
responding to the piece simply as type and color together in a space.
the white space version takes me where you want me to go, while i get stuck in the dense color version.
