dandelion sunrise.
I've always wanted to be a morning person. I think mornings offer a greater sense of anonymity than nights do.

face kite face.
I think this was a piece from an art show a little while back. I love the facial expression and how its eyes seem to be on the person whose hand is grabbing the fabric. I have no idea if it's a kite, but it reminds me of one.

hands.
I like the subtlety of this drawing and the clarity of the subject matter drawn with such wobbly, uncertain lines. I would like the things I create to have a similar quality.

rider.
I like the bizarre creature–a sort of deer with swords for legs. I really like working strange, surreal juxtapositions into an overall scene.

headless crown.
I like the random composition–how the elements don't relate to each other in any real way but work and compliment each other all the same. I like the spontaneous, haphazard quality.

strolling pair.
This photo fills my heart. It's a very sweet picture, I love the clothing they're wearing–especially the matching red piping, the tender arm-in-arm with their backs to the viewer, the slightly burry quality to help the romantic mood along. And I love that they're walking in nature, and not the city.

red suitcase.
I really like the retro, almost Cindy Sherman sort of feel of this photo. I like the anonymity of the subject and how the woodsy setting curiously displaces the well-heeled faceless subject.

ferris.
Anything that alludes to magic and dream in a nostalgic way inspires me, and this image definitely does. I also just love Ferris wheels.

poppy field.
I think they are poppies. The colors are great. I really like colors that are rich, vibrant and I guess, organic? I think what I mean by organic is colors found spontaneously in nature, like this field of flowers against the water.

kitchen nude.
There's something humorous about this image. There's something grotesquely appealing about a naked pregnant woman walking through her kitchen, with its half-open, dated cabinet doors. I'm not sure how this image inspires me, but I think it might have to do with its wry humor and interesting composition. And as bizarre as it is, it feels very real to me.

three silhouettes in bklyn.
I love the shapes the silhouettes take in this photo–how they are in the foreground with the blue-orange sky as the color backdrop. There is something cartoon-y about it, which I like. It reminds me of summer. Summer = Nostalgia = Inspiration.

tiny plane.
I think scale can be inspiring. This plane, for example, is something rather large, but once it's in the sky, it becomes a small fleck in a boundless expanse.

cherub.
I like patterns, especially intricate ones with ornate curvature and feminine colors.
